God, Faith and C S Lewis Today

Narnia and Theology

Thank you for watching!

00:00) I noticed that some people have a problem with C.S. Lewis.
(00:12) Lewis describes a person who is not from Narnia and doesn't know Aslan nor the ways of Narnia.
(00:50) [Audio Reading] Certain theological perspectives seem far more preoccupied with policing the errors of others than they are known for cultivating a joyful and gracious spiritual life.
(01:30) We all interpret scripture. To claim a monopoly on orthodoxy without the humility to admit one's own interpretive lens is a profound divergence from both grace and truth.
(01:44) [Jonathan's Commentary] It does remind me to have a higher ratio of listening to others' opinions than giving my own.
(02:13) I want to briefly and fairly generically focus on that other person that has found Aslan and is walking into eternity.
(02:32) My application of this is that you and I are called in Jesus to love and to share the good news of who God is...
(03:01) It puts into perspective whether we are to spend much time or any time really on focusing on who is outside.

We are fools for Christ... we are weak... we are dishonored... we have become the scum of the earth, the refuse of the world.

1 Corinthians 4:10-13

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.

Galatians 2:20

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Ephesians 6:12
